## The meaning of consecutive numbers as follows:

The numbers which come one after the other continuously are called as the consecutive numbers.

Examples:

2, 3, 4, 5 are said to be four consecutive numbers, because it has continuous numbers.

1, 4, 5, 7, 10 are not consecutive numbers because there is no continuous numbers.

Suppose if you don’t know the number from where we need to start taking consecutive numbers then how to consider consecutive numbers.

We know that in general, the unknown numbers are taken as some variables. So let us represent one unknown number with “x”. Then the next immediate number will be “x+1”, next immediate number will be “x+2”, next immediate number will be “x+3” and so on.

Therefore, the consecutive numbers are taken as x, x+1, x+2, x+3, x+4, x+5, x+6 …etc.

In general,

Two consecutive numbers can be taken as x, x+1.

Three consecutive numbers can be taken as x, x+1, x+2.

Four consecutive numbers can be taken as x, x+1, x+2, x+3.

NOTE:

The first three consecutive prime numbers are 2, 3, and 5

Three consecutive even numbers are 2n, 2n+2, 2n+4.
